CPCIE Privacy Policy

The Canadian Program for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CPCIE) Course is an on-line course of study developed by the Hill Levene Schools of Business/Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Regina, Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. The CPCIE Course is available on the Imagineur.ca website to any member of the public as described in and subject to the CPCIE Course Terms of Use.

The only personal data we require from you is your name, email address and a password created by you.  However, in order to deliver online services to you and to ease the registration, enrolment and on-going signing in to and tracking progress of your activity in the course, we have provided the option of creating a user account and signing in using your Google or Facebook social media account identification and password.

About this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies strictly to the CPCIE Course and, though it is consistent with the University of Regina’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Policy, it does not apply to the broader University of Regina operations nor is it intended to replace that policy. We do not share your information with the broader University of Regina operations for any purpose except in accordance with or as may be required by any applicable law.

What Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide to us directly when you sign into Imagineur.ca. This includes:

Account information

When you create an account on the Imagineur.ca site we require that you provide us with your information including name, email address, and password to facilitate your login and create your site profile.

If you choose to use a social media account to log into imagineur.ca we ask for your permission during this process to collect your name, email address, and profile picture to facilitate your login and create your site profile.            

Information you submit

We collect the information you submit to the website which includes profile-specific information and any profile customizations. Information you choose to submit may include country, province, city/town, address, time zone, interests, gender, ethnicity, year of birth, institution, department, phone, mobile phone, address.

Promotion or Survey

We may ask you to participate in a promotion or survey and will collect and store the information you provide as part of your participation. This information would be subject to this privacy policy.

If you contact us for support or to report a problem or concern we collect and store your information and messages received through this exchange.

Linking social media accounts will allow the other service to send us information about your account with that service. For example, if you sign in to imagineur.ca with a third-party identity provider such as Facebook or Google, that provider will share your email address, name, and profile picture with us.

We strictly prohibit the transfer or disclosure of user data to third parties for advertising, sales to data brokers, or any other non-permissible purposes. Our commitment is to uphold user privacy and trust. We may share or disclose your information in the following ways:

  • We may use third-party services to facilitate the distribution of our electronic communication. These services are selected carefully, and we ensure they adhere to privacy and data protection standards. For the most part, you may visit our website without having to identify yourself.

Consent for Data Collection and Usage

Consent for data collection and usage is obtained through explicit user agreement at the time of account creation and when changes are made to our policy. Users have the right to withdraw consent at any time.

Data and Account Deletion Requests:

Users may request the deletion of their data at any time by contacting hill-levene.imagineur@uregina.ca. We promptly and completely remove the requested data in compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

  • Review the Personal Information that you have already sent us so that you can correct, update, or delete it from our files or exercise the rights provided above.
  • If your child under the age of majority has used the site and sent us Personal Information, and you wish to delete that Personal Information from our files.
  • Ask that we not send you electronic communications or otherwise contact you or report any violation of this Privacy Policy.
